Trash Barges & a Dunking

When we were in Cold Bay, Alaska that barge didn't nearly sink us. It tore a 40 foot gash in the side of the ship approximately 10-20 feet from the waterline. I should know, I had to supervise plenty of crane lifts from the barge. If anything that damn barge nearly killed my one day when I slipped on the orange pilots ladder we had rigged to the side of the ship. I remember climbing the ladder and the next thing I knew I was waist deep in the water. I looked up the ladder and saw the top of the barge go OVER my head and fast coming towards me. I shot up that ladder so fast I probably broke the sound barrier. That was scary.
