This is a copy of my old Deck Log (Online Journal). I am now using an online blog at my "Have Web Sites Will Travel" web site. I use it to chronolog my travels around North America (my American Odyssey).
This "Old" Deck Log is now only an archive of past postings. It tell's the reader where I have visited and what adventures I have had up til the time I started my blog on Have Web Sites Will Travel. This archive was written primarily from the perspective of a tourist. Not necessarily my work log though I may do some of that too, especially in those early days when I built the sites resouces. Initially I used it to detail my efforts in getting prepared for the adventure. Then I chronicled the adventure itself.

My friend George Rey contacted me last night to let me know he and Adliss are safe and with family. They won't know for sure but from what they can find out their part of New Orleans was not flooded so they are hopeful that their home is not too badly damaged. I hope and prey for them and all tho others who have suffered through this horrible disaster.
My prayers go with you George and Adliss Rey.
4 Sept 2005 Friends From Emmett, Idaho Stopped by for a Visit
Pam and William and Pam's parents were out on a day trip from Emmett. They were on their way to see what was up at the new Tamarack Resort. Since Cascade is on the way they stopped by for a while and chatted. They really enjoyed my river side residence.
17 Sept 2005 Preparing to Leave Cascade, Idaho
Underway again tomorrow morning, 18 September 2005, for Emmett, Idaho. I plan to stay in Emmett for one month. Spend some time with my Son, Daughter-in-law Jennifer, Granddaughter Ellery and my brother Jerry and his family. Then start heading south toward Arizona. Just how fast I transit south will depend on a problem my best friend Wally's family is having. If I need to move fast I will go straight down with only an overnight stay as I travel. If I have a little time I will try to stay a week or so in Carson City and some time in Las Vegas and Flagstaff, Arizona before arriving in Phoenix.
Once I settle in Emmett, I will try to bring the site more up to date. I got a lot of pictures of the beautiful Cascade Mountains I would like to get on the site.
19 Sept 2005 Arrived in Emmett, Idaho Yesterday
It was so cold yesterday morning as I prepared to leave Cascade (low 30's) that I didn't get serious about breaking down the RV until nearly noon. By then the fog had burned off and the sun came out. I didn't need to hurry anyway because I was only about 90 minutes from Emmett.
When I arrived my brother Jerry was there to give me a hand setting up and rigging my Internet Satellite system. My son Ray, daughter-in-law Jennifer and my lovely granddaughter Ellery arrived. After I was all setup we went out for dinner then visited a little bit. By then I was bushed and they needed to get back to Boise because Ellery was tired. So I set back and watched a Netflix movie I just received, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Good movie. Better than the original mini-series version that came out about 20 or so years ago.
This week will be taken up by me settling into a new routine in Emmett. Starting Thursday and periodically during the next month I will be taking care of all my annual eye and Dr. appointments. Then sometime middle to the end of next month I will be heading south. It's starting to get a little cold in this neck of the woods.
25 Oct 2005 Summary of My Stay in Emmett, Idaho Schedule Change
I have enjoyed the past month, and a bit, that I have been back here in Emmmet, where I started all this adventure. However, it had been a mixed pleasure. It has been great to be near family and old friends but I have found that I may have a serious health issue. I have not been feeling as well as I usually do. I attributed it to the changes my body was going through as a result of normal ageing. Well in a sense that is true. For the last six months my Dr. has been testing my blood sugar levels and saying that I was "pre diabetic".
I was planning to leave for Arizona Sunday. But I now know I need to stay nearby for awhile until I get this under control. So my departure from Idaho is now on hold until a date to be determined (TBA).
10 Nov 2005 Underway for Phoenix, Arizona and Warmer Weather
Well finally got everything under control, health and other business, and I am now underway enroute Phoenix, Arizona. My first night is in Twin Falls, Idaho at the Twin Falls/Jerome KOA. I will probably stay tommorow night in or around Provo, Utah. I plant to stay, at least Saturday night in St. George, Utah or longer depending on weather and what I see after I arrive. I have heard St. George is a really neat place so I may stary for a few days.
For you Wireless Internet enthusiasts, I stayed connected to the Internet all the way from Emmett, Idaho to Twin Falls. Never lost my connection all the way. I use Verizon's Broadband access network.
