Ray Plumlee's an American Odyssey

Traveling Webmaster's Deck Log

This is a copy of my old Deck Log (Online Journal). I am now using an online blog at my "Have Web Sites Will Travel" web site. I use it to chronolog my travels around North America (my American Odyssey).

This "Old" Deck Log is now only an archive of past postings. It tell's the reader where I have visited and what adventures I have had up til the time I started my blog on Have Web Sites Will Travel. This archive was written primarily from the perspective of a tourist. Not necessarily my work log though I may do some of that too, especially in those early days when I built the sites resouces. Initially I used it to detail my efforts in getting prepared for the adventure. Then I chronicled the adventure itself.

3 May 2004 (Just Doing Some Work and Relaxing)
Took a few days off to consolidate and relax. I have been enjoying my stay here in Kingsburg because I am parked right next to a small park which has plenty of shade and allows me to relax with coffee and a good book. I am reading an Erle Stanley Gardner, Perry Mason, story called "The Case of the Ice-Cold Hands." Sometime you just have to stop and smell the flowers.

7 May 2004 (Day Trip to Yosemite)
Went on a day trip to Yosemite National Park with my aunt and uncle, James and Janet Seay. This is the second time (last time in Oct 2002) we went up to Yosemite. We were hoping to see the falls full of water and were not disappointed. They were magnificent.

Below are some Photos/Pictures I took of Yosemite

Photo/Picture: Here I am on 7 May 2004 over looking the Yosemite Valley with El Capitan and Bridal Veil Falls. Today was a great time to visit as it was a very nice mid 70's°F day with the falls full of spring snow melt running over the falls.

10 May 2004 (Schedule Change for 2005 and Beyond)
I have revised my 2005 and beyond schedule so I will be in the Boise, Idaho area for the birth of my first grand child. My son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Jennifer Plumlee, called me the other day ( See 28 April 2004 entry ) to tell me that they were expecting their first child in January. Well if at all possible I am going to be on hand for this blessed event. You only have one chance to be around for your first grand child's birth. Basically I pushed my entire east coast tour schedule back one full year.

14 May 2004 (Dinner and a show at Roger Rockas)
All my aunts and uncles in the Fresno area went out for dinner and a show at Roger Rockas Dinner Theater. We saw the "Sound of Music."

Below are some pictures of our evening at Roger Rockas where the "Sound of Music" was playing.

15 May 2004 (Kingsburg 2004 Swedish Festival)
Since I am a temporary resident in Kingsburg, California, a Swedish community, I thought I would enjoy the Kingsburg 2004 Swedish Festival.

Below are a few pictures I took at the Kingsburg 2004 Swedish Festival.

Some of the entertainment was provided by Randy Deaver and the Crossfire band.
