Ray Plumlee's an American Odyssey
Traveling Webmaster's Deck Log
This is a copy of my old Deck Log (Online Journal). I am now using an online blog at my "Have Web Sites Will Travel" web site. I use it to chronolog my travels around North America (my American Odyssey).
This "Old" Deck Log is now only an archive of past postings. It tell's the reader where I have visited and what adventures I have had up til the time I started my blog on Have Web Sites Will Travel. This archive was written primarily from the perspective of a tourist. Not necessarily my work log though I may do some of that too, especially in those early days when I built the sites resouces. Initially I used it to detail my efforts in getting prepared for the adventure. Then I chronicled the adventure itself.

Log Entry Title: Update on the Traveling Webmasters Preperations
Log Entry: Down to one haircut and a wakeup. I just got a haircut and by my new haircut standards (once every six weeks or so) I will get one more just before I depart. Thus the one haircut and a wakeup.
Started packing things up for storage. Started with those items I am not currently using and I don't intend to take on the road with me. Examples of these are my old 8 inch reel-to-reel collection of OTR (Old Time Radio) programs. I have over 250 reels of the shows plus another 100 blank reels that I thought I might use some day. Now of course I will no longer need the blank ones. I guess when I come back to the Boise area next year I will see if I can sell the blank ones. Too much to do before I leave this time. The ones with the shows are going to stay in storage until I have a chance to convert them to MP3. I figure by the time I get around to doing them I will already have most of them in MP3 format so I will only have to copy the ones that are not generally available in MP3.
I also have started packing up some of my clothes that I am not likely to need. Such as heavy coats. No more cold winters, don't you know.
My son is hauling a pickup load for me each weekend so I can be done before I move into the motorhome. I don't want to wait until the last week to do it all.
Have a busy weekend coming up. My brother Jerry is moving to a new house (about 3 blocks from his current home in Emmett) and my son and I are going over to help him move.
Plus this weekend is the Treasure Valley Celtic Festival and Highland Games to be held on September 20, 2003 at the Idaho Botanical Gardens. My son, Ray and his wife Jennifer, are going to try and make it this year. We missed the last several years and want to try and make it this time.
